MineTech's Dog School runs a successful breeding and training programme for both Mine Detection Dogs (MDD) and Explosive Detection Dogs (EDD).

The Dog School is situated in an idyllic location near Pretoria, South Africa. The 25 hectares of open bush provide a realistic training area for the dogs where they can acquire the motivational force, focus, stability and good adaptability needed for effective fieldwork. Following a recent kennel expansion programme, the Dog School is now able to comfortably accommodate over 140 dogs.

The expertise of the dog handlers is the key ingredient to ensuring the success rate of the dog teams. The relationship between the handlers and the dogs is paramount to this process and therefore all handlers are also trained at the Dog School to cement the bonding process.
