Mine Detection Dogs
Mine dogs are used for locating and, in some
cases, pinpointing where a mine is positioned. An
average dog team can work at three times the pace of
manual clearance teams and they are especially
effective in areas of high metal contamination where
manual deminers can only, with safety, make slow
progress. Mine detection dogs also play an important
role in verification, quality-checking areas of cleared
